— MIFFLINBURG — Being coroner is more about the living than it is about the dead, said Tod Steese and Dominick Adamo, Republicans vying for the Union County position in the May 21 primary election.

The winner will run unopposed in the fall election for the four-year job that pays $33,501 annually.

“I want to attempt to save lives through education,” Steese said. “I’m sick of death. I want to try to do something to stop some of the ridiculous fatalities that we’re having in the counties from things like texting while driving.”

Adamo said he wants to provide better access to information for families and researchers through a new reporting system.
