Shamokin Dam police: Two men tie up residents, steal cash, valuables

LEWISBURG — SHAMOKIN DAM — Borough police are searching for two men who broke into a Spruce Street home on Thursday, tied up the residents and escaped with cash and other valuables.

The burglary occurred between late afternoon and early evening, officers said.

The home’s occupants were not injured.

The suspects are described as two Vietnamese men wearing ski masks and dark clothing. After they entered the dwelling, police said the men placed the residents in a room and used rope to secure them.

Officers did not release the names of the occupants or give the value of what was stolen.

Anyone with information or who may have seen two Vietnamese men or suspicious vehicles is asked to call the department at (570) 743-2671.
