LAURELTON — A PennDOT bridge crew in Union County reopened a new bridge on Route 235 in Hartley Township this afternoon and lifted a detour.
The new bridge replaces a structurally deficient arch bridge that had been in service for nearly a century.
The new bridge carries Route 235 over Laurel Run on the same alignment, about half-way between Laurelton and Route 45.
Along with the new, wider bridge, other improvements include roadway approach paving and guiderail installation.
Any remaining work on the project will be done with the bridge open to traffic.
