Milton woman sentenced to prison for stealing money from day care center

— MIDDLEBURG — A former employee who admitted stealing about $34,000 from the Children’s Discovery Center was sentenced today to six to 23 months in a county prison.

Pamela S. Crites, 41, of Milton, pleaded guilty in June to felony theft in Snyder County Court.

She was arrested last August for stealing the money from the day care center over a two-year period by depositing checks made out the Discovery Center and keeping the cash payments.

She pleaded guilty to felony theft by unlawful taking. Two other felony counts of receiving stolen property and theft by failure to make required disposition were dismissed.
