PAXINOS — CCI, the parent company of Great Dane, which operates a truck trailer manufacturing plant in Danville, recently purchased the former Fleetwood RV facility in Paxinos.
Company marketing director David P. Grant confirmed the purchase Wednesday but said no specific plans for the facility are being announced at this time. The purchase price was not available.
“CCI has a wide range of real estate holdings in its portfolio at locations across the United States. This includes the former Fleetwood plant in Paxinos,” he said.
Fleetwood moved its motor home production from Paxinos to Decatur, Ind., in December 2008 after 35 years. The Northumberland County plant employed 325 people when it closed.
In business for more than a century, Great Dane is one of the largest manufacturers of truck trailers. The company’s headquarters are in Chicago, Ill., its corporate offices are in Savannah, Ga., and eight manufacturing plants operate across the country, including Danville.
