SELINSGROVE — A Snyder County man is in jail after he was caught inside a pizza shop and detained while state police rushed to the scene, authorities said.
The suspect, George Botticher, 22, of Selinsgrove, faces six charges, four of them felonies, in the burglary attempt at Rocco’s Pizza at Fisher and App roads in Monroe Township.
According to state police at Selinsgrove, at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Botticher entered the restaurant through a side window but was met inside by a 44-year-old person whom police declined to identify. This person called police and detained Botticher, state police reported.
Botticher reportedly admitted to state police that he broke into Rocco’s last Wednesday and took money and then broke in again Thursday.
Botticher was arraigned at 4 a.m. Thursday by District Judge John Reed on two felony counts of burglary and two felony counts of criminal trespass. He also faces misdemeanor charges of theft and receiving stolen property.
Botticher is in the Snyder County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 23 before Reed.
