LEWISBURG — The Lewisburg Neighborhoods Corporation (LNC) announced today that Samantha Pearson will become its next executive director and manager in charge of Elm Street Programs.
The LNC is the implementing organization in Lewisburg for the state Elm Street Program. Its goal is to facilitate neighborhood improvements and foster a sense of community, combining resident engagement, historic preservation, and neighborhood revitalization projects in coordination with the borough, the Lewisburg Downtown Partnership, Bucknell University and other organizations in the area.
The new manager brings extensive knowledge of community relations to the position, coupled with academic degrees in architecture and urbanism from the University of Virginia and Princeton University, and a familiarity with civic leaders in Lewisburg and surrounding communities.
She said her passion for sustainability, community partnerships and volunteer activity will be brought to bear on the work of the Bull Run Neighborhood Committee, a designated Elm Street Program.
Her time will also be devoted to assisting the borough as it implements two recently awarded grants in that neighborhood that address flood–prone properties on South Sixth Street. In addition, she will continue with recently initiated outreach efforts to residents north of Cherry Alley from 5th to Water streets.
The Elm Street Manager in Lewisburg can be reached by phone at 570-523-0114, or by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
