— DANVILLE – A Danville man is reported in serious condition today following an accident March 31 where his all-terrain vehicle flipped twice, landing on him at least once.

Scott A. Geringer, 47, is a patient in Geisigner Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

State police at Milton said the accident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. along Tower Drive and about 50 yards north of a home at 706 Tower Drive.

Police said Geringer was headed south on Tower Road and attempted to negotiate a left curve. The 2001 Yamaha Big Bear 400 went off the right side of the road, traveled down an embankment, causing disabling damage to the vehicle and injuring the driver, police said.

Geringer was able to get the vehicle back up on the road and continued to drive down Tower Road toward Bloom Road. As he approached the intersection of Tower and Bloom roads, the vehicle went off the right side of the road and the plow on the front of the ATV dug into the ground, police said. This caused the vehicle to flip over twice, landing on Geringer at least once, police said.

Geringer was taken by a Danville ambulance to Geisinger.

The Danville Fire Department and Danville fire police assisted at the scene.
