WEST CHILLISQUAQUE TOWNSHIP -- An equipment malfunction was behind a power outage that left nearly 800 people in eastern West Chillisquaque Township without power Wednesday morning, a PPL spokesperson said.
Power was down for roughly two hours and 20 minutes to 799 customers, said Teri MacBride, regional community relations director for PPL. The lights came back on just after noon Wednesday.
The failed equipment was near Old Danville Highway in Northumberland County, she said, and Wednesday morning's weather hampered repair efforts. To get where they needed to make the repairs, PPL workers had to take down power for some customers not affected directly by the equipment malfunction.
