STATE POLICE, STONINGTON
Theft. Oct. 11 to April 11. Brumbach’s Auction, Lower Augusta Township, Northumberland County. Doris Holt of Shamokin and Lisa LaForme of Trevorton reported that someone took batteries from their recreational vehicles which were parked for the winter months.
Theft. April 1-13. Little Mountain Road, Lower Augusta Township, Northumberland County. Roberta A. Kurrell of Sunbury reported that someone removed a muzzle loader gun from her residence.
Hit-run. 11:30 a.m. April 1. Parking lot in Middlecreek Township, Snyder County. Police said Herbert Shirk, 85, of Richfield, allegedly backed his car into a pickup truck owned by Brian Bitler of Northumberland, then left without reporting the incident. Police said Shirk returned to the scene a short time later.
STATE POLICE, MILTON
Theft. April 13-14. McCracken Road, Liberty Township, Montour County. Police said someone removed an aluminum ramp valued at $500 from the exterior of Miller’s Transfer Moving Company. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Milton.
Harassment. 3:15 p.m. Monday. Scott Zimmerman of Lewisburg, reported that someone placed an unaddressed envelope in his mailbox containing six BBs along with a harassing and threatening letter. Anyone with informaiton is asked to contact state police at Milton.
One-vehicle crash. 4:37 a.m. Monday. Route 15 at the White Deer Exit, White Deer Township, Union County. Driver: Hayle A. Caris, 25, Milton. Police said Caris was driv ing south when she apparently fell asleep. Her 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser went off the road and struck a guiderail before overturning several times. Injuries: Caris and a passenger, Jonathan Swales, 31, of Danville, who were both wearing seat belts, were taken to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Criminal mischief. Saturday-Sunday. Millers Bottom Road, White Deer Township, Union County. Yegor Babakov of New Columbia reported that a suspect identified by police allegedly shot BBs into his truck. The victim declined to pursue charges, police said.
Burglary-Theft. Sunday-Monday. Gast Road, West Buffalo Township, Union County. Elizabeth Stearns, 31, Mifflinburg, reported that someone took a child’s bicycle from her property, which was recovered a short time later. The front door of her home also was opened, but nothing appeared to be missing. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Milton.
