Defendant in throat-slashing case to enter plea in Montour County

DANVILLE — A defendant charged with slashing a man in the neck after discovering him in bed with his girlfriend is expected to enter a plea in court.

Leslie Smith Jr., 25, of 252 White Hall Road, should enter a plea Aug. 13, attorney Leslie Bryden said during a Montour County court session Tuesday.

Danville police charged Smith following an incident April 4.

Smith told police the three-inch cut to the man’s throat and neck area was an accident which occurred while he and Dave Drucker, of the Bloomsburg area, fought in Cassandra Poole’s apartment.

Poole, identified as Smith’s girlfriend, lives at Apt. 2 of 412 E. Market St.

Smith allegedly cut Drucker with a utility knife after finding him in bed with Poole.

Drucker was treated in a hospital and released.

Smith faces charges of aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime and reckless endangerment.
