Teenage boy hurt in Route 15 crash Friday night

LEWISBURG — A 17-year-old Watsontown boy was injured in a crash Friday night along Route 15 just north of Lewisburg, state police at Milton said.

The accident occurred at 9 p.m. as Collin Brown, 18, of Milton, was driving a Ford Explorer north in the left lane of Route 15 and attempted to turn left onto AJK Boulevard in Kelly Township, Union County, police said. His vehicle crossed into the path of a vehicle driven by Isabelle Guembou, 34, of Lewisburg, who was traveling south on Route 15 in the right lane of traffic, troopers said.

The front of Guembou’s vehicle struck the center of Brown’s, causing it to spin before coming to a stop in the right turn lane of AJK Boulevard. Guembou’s vehicle came to a stop in the southbound lanes.

The 17-year-old was a passenger in Brown’s vehicle and was not wearing a seat belt, police said. Troopers do not release the names of juveniles, so the boy’s condition could not be obtained from the hospital.

Both Brown and Guembou were wearing seat belts. Brown was not injured, and Guembou suffered minor injuries, police said.

The type of vehicle Guembou drove was not listed in the police report.

Brown was cited with a left turn violation.
