TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Shamrock Road near Paxinos

PAXINOS — A PennDOT bridge crew in Northumberland County is scheduled to complete a deck preservation project at a bridge in Shamokin Township on June 4, weather permitting.

The 98-foot-long bridge carrying Shamrock Road over Shamokin Creek, about one mile north of Paxinos, will receive a double application of an epoxy overlay and stone chips, which will provide better traction and extend the life of the structure, a spokesman for the state Department of Transportation said.

Work is expected to be completed in one day, June 4. There will be a daylight closure from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a red-arrow detour in place during the closure. The detour will use Bottle Road and Short Road.
