LEWISBURG — Today’s early morning home invasion at 302-304 N. 4th St. is the second one in about 18 months for the Lewisburg home, Buffalo Valley Regional Police report.
Chief Paul Yost said this morning that the incident appears to be a targeted event involving people who know each other. It does not appear that neighbors are in danger, he said.
Police continue their investigation into today's event at 4:15 a.m. in which several men wearing shirts or masks over their faces and displaying weapons burst into the residence on North Fourth Street, demanding drugs and cash.
The men removed two television sets and an air conditioner from the residence, then fled in a small, dark-colored car, the police reported this morning. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported, but a sexual assault allegedly took place during this crime, Police Chief Paul Yost said. Police are working to confirm if this happened; there are no details on a possible victim, Yost said.
There is no height or race description of the perpetrators. Buffalo Valley Police ask anyone with information to contact the department at (570) 524-5151. Sources of any information provided will be kept confidential, police said.
