MILTON - An early-morning car chase ended with two men sent to the hospital after one of them fled a police car pulling the vehicle over for a traffic violation.
Troopers of the state police at Milton attempted to stop a 1999 Subaru Outback, driven by Jordan Scott McEvoy, 18, of Milton, at 12:36 a.m., Sunday, at the intersection of Routes 147 and 254 in Turbot Township, Northumberland County. McEvoy sped up and fled, with officers pursuing south on Route 147. The chase continued to the Mahoning Street exit at Route 642 and entered Milton. McEvoy continued traveling north on Golf Course Road, before turning right onto Red Hill Road and crashing at an embankment near that street’s intersection with Muddy Run Road.
McEvoy’s car came to a rest in a yard at 440 Muddy Run Road.
In McEvoy’s passenger seat was Jonathan Scott, 29, of Milton. Both McEvoy and Scott had to be removed from the vehicle by rescue personnel.
McEvoy is facing charges which include felony fleeing and eluding, DUI and drug possession. A police report did not list Scott as being charged with any crimes.
Both Scott and McEvoy were taken by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center for moderate injuries. Both were treated and released later in the day.
State police had no additional details as of Sunday night.
Assisting at the scene of the crash were the Milton Borough Police Department, Buffalo Valley Regional Police Department, Watsontown Police Department, Milton Fire Department, Warrior Run Ambulance and Taylor’s Garage.
