WATSONTOWN — A Dewart man is facing an indecent assault charge after he allegedly groped a waitress in a Watsontown eatery.
Terry Cromley, 61, of Spencer Drive, faces one count of indecent assault stemming from the Feb. 19 incident.
The victim, 18, said Cromley lingered at the counter after paying his bill at about 6:30 p.m., police said. He then put one arm around the woman’s neck, while groping her with his other hand, officers said.
The victim reported that this was not the first time Cromley had made her feel uncomfortable, saying he rubbed her back at least one other time and often lingered near her after paying his bill, according to court documents.
A fellow waitress backed up the victim’s story, telling officers she saw Cromley pull the victim toward him, police said.
Cromley admitted touching the woman and said he “knows it is inappropriate to touch a stranger like that,” according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. March 20 in Milton.
