LEWISBURG -- Lewisburg Borough Council will discuss tonight its situation with Borough Manager Chad Smith, who remains in serious condition at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville after suffering a broken back in a vehicle accident last Friday.
Tuesday at 7 p.m. is the council's regularly scheduled meeting. Councilman Trey Casimir said any action about interim managers for the spot would need full council discussion and then a vote.
"We've had numerous offers of assistance from other local municipal officials who've worked with Chad," Casimir said, noting that council members are thankful for the outreach.
Smith was traveling west on Interstate 80 last Friday night when his pickup truck went out of control and spun out on a wet road, state police reported from a witness. Smith was thrown from the vehicle after it went off the road, flipped end over end for about 300 feet and then came to rest against an embankment.
