— SELINSGROVE — A 21-year-old Herndon man was jailed Wednesday in lieu of $15,000 bail for allegedly breaking into his former girlfriend’s Selinsgrove apartment, stealing her car keys and taking off with her vehicle.

Borough police said Virgil Raynard Jamison, of 626 Pottsville St., Herndon, got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend, Lisa Kruskie, on Oct. 3 near her 315 N. Market St. apartment as he was removing items from her vehicle.

Kruskie claims Jamison grabbed her and pushed her into the street and passersby stopped to check on her, court records said.

Kruskie said she grabbed her car keys and ran into her apartment, locking the door behind her. She said she hid in a bedroom closet and Jamison forced his way into the home and stole her car keys, records said.

Police said they noticed pieces of a wooden frame were on the ground and a window pane was out of the back door to Kruskie’s apartment after Jamison left the area in Kruskie’s 2003 Ford Expedition.

Jamison was arraigned by District Judge John H. Reed in Selinsgrove on charges of felony burglary, theft by unlawful taking and criminal trespass and misdemeanor simple assault, endangering another person and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He’s being held in the Snyder County Jail pending a preliminary hearing Oct. 16.
