LEWISBURG — A nonprofit research group reports that as of early October, there were 33,470 more Pennsylvania voters registered as independents than there were in 2008, the last presidential election year.
The trend resonates in the Valley, where some residents — questioning the leadership ability of the presidential candidates and the ideologies of the two major parties — characterize themselves as being less Democratic or less Republican than in years past.
