Evangelical Community Hospital reschedules events, closes some non-essential services

— LEWISBURG - Essential services remain in operation at  Evangelical Community Hospital, but some offices will be closed today and events rescheduled.

Staff members in the Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Imaging Services, Cardiovascular Services, Laboratory Services, Pharmacy, The Family Place—Evangelical’s Obstetrical Services—and Nursing will provide care for those patients already in the hospital and accept new emergency cases as needed.

However, in the interest of safety for the Hospital’s staff and patients, some offices will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 30, hospital administrators said today.

The following hospital-related offices will be closed today: Cardiac Rehab; Evangelical Family Medicine; Evangelical Internal Medicine; Evangelical Outpatient Therapy at Lewisburg, Mifflinburg, Middleburg, and Selinsgrove; Evangelical Rheumatology; Evangelical Surgical Specialists; Family Medical Care; Fitness Center; HomeCare Products (24-hour oxygen assistance will continue); Infusion Center (excluding emergent cases).

Also, John E. Rice, MD; John H. Persing, MD; Lewisburg Family Practice; Mark A. Blakeslee, DO; Meadow Green Medical Group; Middleburg Family Medicine; Milton Family Practice; One-Day Surgery; Outpatient Clinic, including Vascular Clinic, Bariatric Clinic, Pain Clinic, Outpatient Dietary, Diabetes Ed; Outpatient Echocardiography; Outpatient Laboratory in the Professional Office Building; Outpatient Respiratory Rehab.

Also, Pulmonary Rehab; Selinsgrove Family Medicine; Selinsgrove Imaging Center; Sleep Disorders Center; Strawbridge Family Medicine; Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health; Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.

Rescheduled events include:

- The Nursing Home Breakfast scheduled for 7:30 am Wednesday, Oct. 31, in Apple Conference Rooms A,B,C has been rescheduled for 7:30 am Thursday, Nov. 15, in Apple Conference Rooms A,B,C.

- The “I Can Cope” breast cancer survivor program scheduled from 6-8 pm Monday night, Oct. 29, at the Cellars at Brookpark has been rescheduled for 6-8 pm Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Cellars at Brookpark.

- The class scheduled from 8:30 to 10 am Tuesday, Oct. 30, will be rescheduled.

- Yoga classes scheduled from 3:30 to 4:45 pm and 5 to 6:15 pm have been cancelled.
