Puppies worth $4,000 stolen from McClure couple

— McCLURE — Four puppies — two Dobermans and two Siberian huskies — worth a total of $4,000 were stolen Friday night or early Saturday morning from a West Beaver Township kennel, police said.

The kennel owners, Amanda and Robert Henry, said they probably weren’t home at the time because their other dogs would have alerted them to the theft, according to trooper Scott R. Mang, of the state police at Selinsgrove.

The kennel at 5297 Ridge Road was locked, and a latch was loosened to get access to the puppies, the trooper said. The Henrys, who could not be reached for comment, are dog breeders, he said.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call state police at (570) 374-8145.
