LEWISBURG - A woman accused of aiming a gun at four teenage boys has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and making terroristic threats.
Kaye E. Phleeger was arraigned Saturday and incarcerated in the Snyder County jail following the 4 p.m. incident, which took place outside of 101 N. Front St., according to arresting officer Shawn Burns of the Buffalo Valley Regional Police.
She is also facing several minor, related charges, Burns said.
Phleeger aimed the gun at the four boys, three 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old, after she saw them climbing on a partially uprooted tree on North Front Street, police said. The weapon was not fired.
According to the boys, Phleeger was sitting on the porch of 101 N. Front St. and allegedly told them “You have no respect for nature” before pulling out the gun.
The boys fled unharmed, and one of their fathers later called 911, resulting in a two-hour standoff with five Valley law enforcement agencies. Police closed four blocks of Lewisburg during the community’s popular Celebration of the Arts festival. The festival was just winding down at the time.
Police allege that Phleeger was intoxicated when arrested and could not tell them her name. The gun allegedly used by Phleeger has been recovered by police, said Burns.
