Milton high school complex lockdown lifted

SUNBURY — MILTON - The Milton Area High School/Middle School  complex was locked this afternoon because of an external threat, school district administrators announced on their website.

The police were on the scene at the school, where all students were safely locked in their classrooms. Those who go to the school will not gain access during the lockdown, administrators said.

The district posted shortly after 3:15 p.m. that the lockdown had been lifted, saying, "The lockdown at the High School and Middle School complex has been lifted. All students are safe and we will follow our normal end of day departure schedule."

District officials did not provide further details on the threat.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
