WASHINGTONVILLE - A two-car crash at Washingtonville's intersections of Routes 254 and 54 left one man delirious and in need of medical attention.
Carl Flora, 66, of Danville, was traveling west on Route 254 at about 11:55 a.m., March 28, while Kevin Mains, 59, of Shamokin, was traveling east on Route 54.
According to accounts given by Mains to Trooper Scott Carl of the Milton State Police, Flora ran a red light at the intersection. Mains said he tried to steer away from Flora’s car, but could not prevent a crash.
Trooper Carl said that Flora was unable to remember anything about the crash following the accident. Flora was treated at the scene by members of Danville Ambulance and delivered to Geisinger Medical Center for further care. Mains did not require medical attention following the crash.
Carl said Flora will likely be cited, provided he does not remember anything that contradicts Mains’ story.
Traffic was reduced along the intersection for about half an hour after the collision. Both vehicles were towed following the crash.
Also responding to the scene were the Washingtonville and Valley Township Fire Departments.
