MONTANDON — State police are looking for some troublemakers in Montandon after numerous vehicles were broken into and vandalized overnight Thursday and someone tried to break into the post office.

Between 6 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday several cars were broken into in the Montandon area and various items were removed. Police did not say what the items were or how much they were worth.

Then, between 11 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday, two people — Rod Harris and Kimberly Walter, both of Montandon — reported their vehicles being vandalized with words written on the victim’s vehicles, police said. One car had the damage scratched into the paint, while another was written in marker, police said.

Police also said sometime between 7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday, someone tried to break into the Montandon Post Office, 97 Main St.

They entered the building through a locked front door and tried to break a window to get into the retail area of the building, though police do not think anything was taken during the break-in.

Police did not say if they believe the three incidents are related.

Anyone with information about any of the incidents is asked to call state police at Milton at (570) 524-2662.
