White Deer Elementary School vandalized two days before classes begin

NEW COLUMBIA - Vandalism was discovered this morning at Milton Area School District's  White Deer Elementary School, just two days before students are scheduled to return to the building.

The Milton Area School District today "received a report that the White Deer Elementary School had been vandalized," said Superintendent Cathy Groller.

Classes for the Milton district are scheduled to start on Thursday and the school has now been forced to close to deal with the vandalism and allow State Police to investigate.

Groller did not release details on the extent of the vandalism. However, she did say that school officials hope the school will open its doors on Thursday as planned.

"At this point in time, we expect school to open on Thursday," she said.

If anyone has any information regarding the incident, contact the State Police Milton barracks at 524-2662.
