Union County presents concealed firearms safety course

LEWISBURG - Union County’s “Concealed Firearm Familiarization Course” is open to residents of any county age 21 and older who hold a concealed-carry gun permit.

You must sign up in person at the Sheriff’s Office, Union County Courthouse, 103 S. Second St., Lewisburg. The fee is $40, and checks and money orders are acceptable.

A co-ed class takes place Monday, Aug. 19, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and an all-female class takes place Monday, Sept. 23, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Class size is limited to 25 participants.

You don’t need a firearm to take part but are welcome to bring your own handgun to class. However — and the sheriff could not stress this enough — leave the live ammo at home. For further information, call the sheriff’s office at (570) 524-8716.
