One person stabbed in Sunbury home invasion

— SUNBURY — Details are sketchy about an early-morning home invasion in the city on Sunday that left one man with stab wounds and another man being sought by police.

Sunbury police Chief Steve Mazzeo confirmed an incident took place in the city but wouldn’t give the location or say what happened. He would only say that “something is under investigation.”

A person familiar with the probe said a Sunbury man is wanted by city police after breaking into a home on Susquehanna Avenue. Once inside, the man allegedly stabbed a man he encountered in the dwelling.

Sources close to the incident said the man was taken to Sunbury Community Hospital for treatment of stab wounds. Since police had not released the victim’s name, his condition could not be checked at the hospital.
