Millmont woman dies on Route 192 accident

MIFFLINBURG —  A Millmont woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a Friday afternoon accident on Route 192 after she swerved into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer, according to state police at Milton.

Dora L. Eichenlaub, 52, was traveling west on Route 192 in Hartley Township, Union County, east of Raymond B. Winter State Park, when she lost control of her vehicle and traveled into the path of an eastbound tractor-trailer driven by Gary Hendricks, 50, of Telford.

The accident occurred just before 1 p.m. Friday about two miles east of R.B. Winter. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation closed a 15-mile stretch of Route 192 between the park and Forest Hill Road.

Police did not say why Eichenlaub may have lost control of her vehicle before striking the tractor-trailer.

Eichenlaub was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by Union County Coroner Wanda Walters.

Hendricks was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured, according to police. Both vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.

The Mifflinburg Hose Company, Mifflinburg Ambulance, Hartley Township fire police and paramedics from Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg responded.
