SUNBURY — Two city police officers on Friday unexpectedly helped Laura Drumheller deliver a premature baby, resuscitated the infant, then commandeered an ambulance to race to Geisinger Medical Center, in Danville.
Sunbury officers Travis Bremigen and Cpl. Brad Hare were on patrol early Friday when a 911 dispatch alerted them to a woman in labor.
Because the officers were only a block or two away, they decided to assist Americus Ambulance Company, which responded to the call.
The officers arrived first.
What happened next is something Bremigen said he will never forget.
