— MILTON -  Police are searching for a masked man who held up a Cole’s Hardware employee Saturday evening at Arch and Center streets.

The man approached the clerk from behind sometime between 6:15 and 6:45, grabbed his arms and demanded the money that the clerk was carrying to make a night deposit at the nearby Susquehanna Bank.

The clerk was told he would be shot if he did not comply, according to borough police.

The robber took the money and ran away, heading southwest, police said.

The robber was described as being about 5 feet 10 inches tall, in his 20s and wearing dark clothing as well as a dark knit ski mask, police said.

Surveillance cameras in the area showed numerous vehicles driving by the intersection near the time of the robbery, as well as pedestrians in the area.

Any person who may have been driving or walking in the area during that time is asked to contact the Milton Police Department.
