Visiting school students may soon get a reprieve. Obama said he's asking the Secret Service to find a way to resume the White House tours.
"What I'm asking them is, 'Are there ways for us to accommodate school groups who may have traveled here?'" he said in an interview broadcast on ABC's "Good Morning America" broadcast. "Who may have traveled here with some bake sales, can we make sure that kids potentially can — can still come to tour."
Foyil, who will be leading his 25th spring trip to Washington March 16-19, says the president's effort may by be too late. He turned disappointment into a lesson for his Eliot Elementary School students, who in class are learning about the Constitution.
He told them: "I want you all to understand that what happens in Washington, D.C., does affect your life."
