Shifting blame

After "years of debate and worry," according to The Daily Item editorial page, Sunbury has "reached a crossroads" in its struggle to cope with the number of rundown rental units (read the number of unwanted human elements) in the municipality. ....more>>

  • Different Erik
More than a week ago, an article about an arrest appeared in The Daily Item. Unfortunately one of the people accused has the same name with the same spelling as our grandson.

  • Great teacher
The city of Sunbury and the Pennsylvania College of Technology lost a great man and a wonderful professor in David London over the weekend.

  • Interpreting doctrine
After reading Claude Mengel's letter titled "Changed Message," I felt compelled to provide an answer to his question: "In view of all the different religions of the present age telling people there are many ways to God, I wonder who changed the original message and why?"

  • Opposing facility
I'm writing in regard to Firetree Ltd., the company that purchased the former Beaver Adams Elementary School, located in Beaver Springs. I will get straight to the point: Firetree Ltd. operates community re-entry centers and drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, mainly for convicts.

  • Save building
In regards to the current difficulties and decisions being faced by the Mifflinburg Borough Council, I believe this presents a wonderful opportunity to teach our children and grandchildren a lesson.

  • Ironic development
It has come to my attention that the fate of the historic Mifflinburg borough building will be decided in May, and if it goes the way of a recent straw vote in committee, it will be for demolition.

  • Wonderful show
Thursday evening I had the privilege of seeing the Milton Area High School's drama club's presentation of "Carousel." These students gave an excellent example of their talent in music, dancing and drama.
