Muzzle them
Last Saturday night, while walking the family dog, my sister and mother experienced a trauma of a lifetime. Bella, a small mixed breed, was savagely attacked by two pit bulls on Front Street in Sunbury.
If not for the help of a dozen or more bystanders, Bella could have died.
Men were kicking and hitting the two vicious dogs who would not release Bella. After, what I am sure, seemed like a lifetime, the dogs finally released Bella.
I would like to thank the people that came to my sister and Bella's rescue.
A special thanks to the kind people who drove my sister and Bella to the Sunbury Animal Hospital for emergency surgery. Bella is now at home recuperating from her many puncture wounds and large gaping holes on her body from these animals.
From what I understand, pit bulls are very aggressive dogs. Owners should and must maintain total control of their animals. The owner and two children who were walking the pit bulls evidently could not control the behavior of their "pets." All dogs are required to walk with a leash. Perhaps the city should mandate a requirement that all dogs who are considered a violent breed should be muzzled when out of their home.
