Bad judgement

I am feeling as though there must be more people out there than myself who feel that the punishment meted out to Teri Jo Hunt does not exactly match the crime committed. It seems to me that what she did was very bad judgment and something that many others have possibly done and not had to carry the weight of the guilt for their entire life time.

Every day, the general public sits down to a steady diet on television of breasts flaunted and exposed (maybe the very tips covered with a Band-Aid strip) for the sake of advertising a product with sex appeal. Does anyone speak out against this? And do the advertisers get put under the curse of Megan's law? I am not saying that I approve of what she did -- it was bad judgment. But it does not seem to me that she would be a threat to society any more than a night of television shows and advertisements.

I think that this woman needs to be in church with her children and confess her wrong judgment and be supported by Christians and moral individuals who would be an example to her and disciple her and her children. Her actions fell more under the definition of pornography than sex offender.

If a person is sorry for their bad judgment, don't you think they can change and never be inclined to repeat that mistake again? I, for one, just do not feel that the punishment fits the crime. A person can mature in judgment and change to become a very respectable member of society -- if given the chance.
