Fantastic production

July 25, 2008 06:00 am

For the last two months I have had the pleasure of working with 40 young people from eight different Valley school districts. So often, young adults "make news" that is negative and unbecoming. However, this group of hardworking, talented kids exemplifies the best of the Central Susquehanna Valley's young people. They have dedicated their free time this summer to creating a wonderful experience for the entire community. Bloomsburg, Lewisburg, Mifflinburg, Milton, Montgomery, Shamokin, Shikellamy and Warrior Run have all provided exceptionally talented individuals to the cast of Disney's "High School Musical On Stage," to be performed today, Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Milton High School.
People who know and love the show from the phenomenally successful Disney movie will be delighted with how true the production is to the original film. People who are not familiar with it will enjoy the upbeat songs and dances. Everyone will be impressed with how talented the actors and actresses are. Their singing, dancing and character interpretation are truly outstanding. Director Connie Pawling Young, known for more than 20 years for Warrior Run High School's marvelous spring musicals, has once again created a magical, memorable production.
Tickets -- $8 for adults, and $5 for students -- are available at the door or by calling the hotline of the Milton Area Community Theater at 742-4447. Bring your family to Disney's "High School Musical On Stage" at Milton High School. You'll be glad you did.
