I am currently enrolled in Shikellamy as a junior and I am completely dumbfounded by the fact that The Daily Item covered the story about the fights taking place in the school. I do, however, think you should have pointed out that the fights were happening in the middle school.
You clearly state numerous times the fights are happening in the high school when in reality, it's the middle school students.
I know Shikellamy isn't the best school in Pennsylvania, but bullying does happen and it should be taken care of. We are always looked at for negative things, such as this bullying issue. But no one ever points out the great things about our school.
You should have pointed out it wasn't even the high school kids that were doing it. You highlighted certain comments from kids on the videos, but you left out the numerous comments made from high school and some middle school kids, telling kids how immature it was and how it needed to stop.
I personally believe those are issues that should have been brought up in your article as well.
