Lewisburg needs a new high school to replace its decaying facility. But there’s a small group in Lewisburg that has been trying to distract from this need to emphasize instead secondary issues having to do with the new site: sustainability, transportation, town planning.
These issues are important but secondary. What is missing from this list is education. We
have one of the highest levels of educational achievement in the country for a district our size, yet this group wants to ignore the clear judgment of our independent accrediting agency that we cannot fulfill our stated educational goals in the current site. Our students deserve better.
