Evil acts

Please take the following into consideration when voting next week. The most important thing in this world is for us not to commit or condone acts of evil. I personally cannot vote for anyone who supports intrinsically evil (always evil) acts such as abortion, euthanasia, embryotic stem cell research, cloning and same sex marriage. Also, the current attack on religious liberty is unprecedented. Trying to silence churches and people of good will does not benefit this nation. Our freedom and invaluable rights come from God, not politicians or the courts.

Social justice, care for the poor, the environment, etc., are not intrinsically evil as such. People can disagree on how to best handle these issues and presidential judgement comes into play. Some people equate these concerns as being equal to the issues mentioned above. They are not of the same magnitude of evil as life issues.

The moral crisis in this nation is of critical importance, since the life of each individual soul is affected for either good or evil.

Joseph J. Scartelli,

Selinsgrove
