Discern facts

I was dismayed to read a brief comment by Ms. Fatool of Sunbury that "any person who believes that the term 'binders' (form of notebook) is degrading to women probably isn't intelligent enough to vote."

I am appalled by Romney's quote, "binders full of women," not only for the underhanded way it objectifies women, but also for its sexist inference that women are a commodity who exist within the pages of a notebook solely to make Romney's own political record more appealing.

This insidious quote represents a whole trajectory within the Republican Party promoting medieval attitudes, ideas and policies that are dangerous to women.

The excellent website http://bindersfullofwomen.com/ turns Romney's quote into a helpful research tool for women and men who wish to find out for themselves what politicians are claiming about women's lives and the public policies they are trying to eradicate and-or reform.

I'm sure Ms. Fatool would agree with me that intelligent people discern the facts before they vote.

The Rev. Robin Jarrell,

Lewisburg
