---- — The horrific murder of U.S. Corrections Officer Eric Williams at a Wayne County prison, is microcosm of our society and the erroneous anti-gun agenda of the progressive left.
Prisons have the most restrictive access to everything. However, this hasn't limited the incarcerated criminals from making deadly weapons.
Sen. Bob Casey is now flying a trial balloon of "arming" Federal Corrections Officers with pepper spray. He states that Bureau of Prisons (BOP) officers are attacked thousands of times per year. Anything the BOP can do to protect guards is certainly much past due.
The point is that the criminals, and the mentally deranged, will always find ways and weapons to kill. In 2011, according to the FBI, knives were used to murder many more Americans than rifles and shotguns combined.
Just as Sen. Casey wants to correctly provide BOP Guards with minimal defense, he and his progressive liberal agenda, which is supported by The Daily Item, are bent on disarming law abiding citizens so that we can not defend ourselves.
I have had the unfortunate experience to have an unknown and unwanted person on my porch at 2 a.m., and despite 911 calls, no police officer ever came to my home.
The privileged elite, such as the President and Senator will always have armed protection. The common folk will have to defend ourselves.
