One hour to honor

The Daily Item

— We are asking for any and all veterans to call 570-274-5298 to give a time and day you can or will stand one hour as an Honor Guard. The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall will be arriving at Uniontown, Coal Township on May 29.

This awesome memorial requires 24/7 Honor Guard. It is well known, Vietnam veterans take care of their own. However, after 50 years, our ranks have slowly passed away.

Vietnam veterans have fought for all veterans’ benefits. We also come forward to pay tribute to all our comrades at military burials, in parades on veterans holidays. Now these heros, all 58,479, deserve all veterans to stand Honor Guard for them.

I know there are some veterans unable to stand one hour. Please know, a chair will be provided for any veterans who wish to still show tribute to our fallen brave. God once said, “The least you do for your fellow man, you also do for me.” One hour, a flash in time. Do you have one hour for those who gave their lives for their fellow man?

Sol Bidding,

Coal Township
