For The Daily Item
Sen. Pat Toomey criticized the federal health care law and said he was “shocked” that the Obama administration “thinks 2.5 million lost jobs is a good thing.” The law will actually decrease unemployment and help stimulate the economy.
Toomey acts like the new law is the worst piece of legislation in U.S. history, but he fails to tell people that it helps 700,000 Pennsylvanian children with pre-existing conditions. He also fails to tell people the law prevents insurance companies from putting a lifetime limit on a patient’s treatment.
If Toomey gets his way, insurance companies would again be able to cut heath care off due to annual limits on how much they spend. Toomey fails to tell people the law gives people the opportunity to leave their full-time job and become a successful entrepreneur because they no longer have to rely on their employer’s health insurance.
It would be helpful if Toomey did his homework and told Pennsylvanians the full story — not just what he wants us to hear.
