Destructive politics

I admit that I have been critical of some of Commissioner Vinny Clausi's behavior, but I believe that Commissioner Rick Shoch was wrong to publish accusations against Clausi only days after he had surgery, forcing him to return to the courthouse to defend himself.

I'm not arguing if these allegations are true or false; I just believe the timing was unfortunate. During the hearing, Attorney Greg Stuck got a few licks in by asking Commissioner Clausi if he could read English.

Then, the Daily Item wasn't content to show one picture of Clausi's pain -- they printed three. That is cruel.

It seems that everyone is out to get somebody, as if pointing out a flaw or misdeed of a fellow worker, neighbor, or even friend will make them look better. Our entire system of government in county, state and country is operating this way. There is no kindness or compassion to be found.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand."

If this behavior does not stop, at any level of government, it will destroy all of us.

Joan V. Catherman,

Milton
