Rolling Green memories

Gone are the days of riding the trolley to the end of the line to boat on the lake, swim in the crystal pool, dance in the pavilion, go roller skating, ride the Skyline Twister roller coaster and carousel or visit Devil's Den.

Those activities, once found at Rolling Green Park, ceased when the park closed its doors.

I will be compiling interesting personal stories and factual information on the park to write a book entitles "Rolling Green Park -- Thanks for the Memories." I would like to hear from any person who visited the park -- either one time or many times, to reminisce about "the people's playground."

If you have any postcards, photographs, newspaper articles or collector memorabilia you are willing to share, please call me at 742-7804.

My aim in writing this book is to bring a smile to your face and wrath to your heart in remembering the fun-filled times spent in that hot spot in Hummel's Wharf when life was more carefree.

Rolling Green Park was a part of our lives. It was nearby, fun, clean, priced right and kept up with the times -- well worth the thought of "thanks for the memories."
