It's a shame what this country has become. I understand that the gun ban issue in the United States has become tiring. Everyone is fed up hearing about it, and they just want it to end.
That is exactly how our government wants you to feel. That way they will get their way and nobody will care, because the issue is over and now there are fewer guns available to the citizens, or at least the citizens that follow the rules, have a job, obey the laws and pay their taxes. Why are there no efforts from Sen. Feinstein or the Obama administration on getting guns off the streets from gangs and thugs that just want to hurt people? Instead they focus on taking the gun rights away from law-abiding citizens and in return debate with each other if it's a good idea to legalize marijuana. Are you serious? That's an awful idea.
I often wonder if the teachers who were killed in Sandy Hook Elementary School would have liked to have a concealed firearm that they were trained with and knew how to use that sad day. We'll never know. Think about all those poor children that could be alive today if those teachers had.
The Aurora Theater shooting, I wonder if the people that were killed would have liked to have a concealed firearm during that sad time. We'll never know.
Last week, a mother was walking her 13-month-old child in a stroller when she was confronted by two armed men that demanded money. She didn't have any money so they shot her twice and then shot the child in the face killing him instantly. I wonder if she thinks, "If only I had a pistol that day, my baby might still be alive."
Taking our weapons is not going to stop maniacs from getting their hands on guns and continue to harm us. Make a stand, carry concealed and learn how to shoot. Nobody cares until it's too late, then they are left sitting there knowing that they had the ability to protect themselves and the people around them, but never did.
