You might be a conservative if...

According to Professor George Lakoff, University of Californian, Berkeley.

You believe that God is above man, man above nature, adults above children, men above women, whites above non-whites, straights above gays, Christians above non-Christians and America above other nations.

You believe that free markets are moral, competition is good, governmental regulation is bad and that the wealthy create jobs for the poor. Wealthy people tend to be good people who need to be served by the poor who deserve to be poor and serve the wealthy.

You believe that schools should teach conservative values and that conservatives should gain control of school boards to guarantee this. Teachers should be strict and that unruly students should be punished physically (paddled).

You believe that government funds should be cut from public schools so that vouchers can be given to wealthy children to attend expensive private schools while poorer children are given vouchers to attend public schools.

You do not believe in same-sex marriage because a lesbian marriage has no father and a gay marriage has two fathers who are less than real men and no mother.

You believe a teenage girl who is pregnant should not have an abortion, but that she should not get cash assistance, food stamps or government health insurance for prenatal care, postnatal care or child care.

You believe that government social programs like Social Security for the disabled and retired, Medicare for seniors, Medicaid for low-income persons and the children's health insurance program (CHIP) are immoral and should be eliminated.

Are you really a conservative?
