Immigrants save the day

Look around and you will see that the professional community in the United States is more and more made up of recent immigrants, doctors, scientists, engineers, geologists, physicists and more. They come here from China, India, Pakistani and other countries to be trained in our universities because, we have the best in the world. Many stay to take advantage of the good living conditions.

If it weren’t for these immigrants we would be in sad shape because Americans are not education minded and we need to shape up. The natives, that’s us, adults and students, are more interested in texting, computer games, movie and TV celebrities, sports heroes and fighting over abortion and contraceptive rights, denying global warming and evolution than promoting and improving education.

We are stagnating, going backward instead of opening our minds to learning, knowledge and producing an educational environment where we could produce our own American professionals.

We as a nation are so far out of it when it comes to education our heroes are not Nobel prize winners but overpaid sports and entertainment figures.

Probably only one percent of us know that American Nobel prize winners in 2012 were David Wineland for physics, in 2013 Robert Shiller for economics, Thomas C. Sudhof for medicine and more.

I am also sure that the other 99 percent know all about the bullying episode of Richie Incognito who abused Jonathan Martin and also you all know who Venus Williams is and what she does. I love sports also and enjoy TV, but we as a nation need to get with education and improve the world standing for our secondary students who are the future of America.
