Please allow me to express my feelings of frustration and outrage regarding the recent investigation and ultimate seizure of a rabbit mill in our area. I have been in animal rescue for many years and it sickens me to know that puppy mills and rabbit mills and any other kind of cruelty against animals continues to exist in this state and throughout the country. What is wrong with people?
I contacted the authorities who now have custody of these abused, dying and pregnant rabbits, and was told that the conditions under which they were found was appalling. The owner of this farm should go to jail, and not just be given a slap on the wrist and a fine to pay. People like this have no heart and no love for animals, and yet they call themselves Christians, and view themselves as “living in harmony with the land, nature, and caring for God’s animals.” They may have to go before a local judge and face a penalty, but someday they will have to explain themselves and their terrible deeds to a higher power. When they do, I hope they will get their just punishment for this cruel and unnecessary act against defenseless animals.
