---- — As I drive around Danville or Bloomsburg, it makes me wonder how and where people learned or were taught their driving skills, or the lack thereof.
No use of signals, even in a turning lane, is ridiculous and careless. Those lanes are designed to keep traffic flowing, not absolve you from using the correct procedure. The same applies to the turning lanes. You are not absolved from using signals.
People around here drive like goats, sheep and cows grazing in a field. I'm not comparing them to animals, that wouldn't be fair to the animals since they seem to be a lot smarter. They warn others of impending danger.
Another thing is the "passing-lane camper." Passing lane is just what the term implies, it's for passing, not camping there because you intend to turn in a few miles.
It's no wonder that you have road rage. Who wouldn't be angry when you are traveling at a posted speed and some clown stops dead in front of you and turns off the highway? That's just a total disregard for anyone but themselves, because they count, nobody else does.
You are required by law to turn your lights on when it rains or snows and even when it is foggy. Wipers on, lights on.
Again some feel that does not apply to them. They can drive in complete safety because others do have their lights on and can be seen.
It's really not that hard to be a good steward on the road. It becomes commonplace if you utilize it enough. It's like talking on your phone while driving, it's so common you automatically do it with no forethought at all.
All I can say is people are lucky I'm not a policeman. I wouldn't care what or how long it took, I would write up every traffic infraction I saw. So let's wake up people.
Get off your self-righteous horse and get back to knowing that there are others here, too.
